No. We only install our commercial-grade LED products. Store-bought strands fail more often, are harder to service, and lead to more callbacks than the systems we stand behind.

That policy exists so the display you pay for is the display we can warranty and maintain. If you have leftover retail lights, we recommend retiring them rather than mixing them into a professional install.

Not every surface is a good candidate. We design for lines that already exist in the house rather than wrapping random trim. If a requested run would look busy in daylight, we will say so and suggest a tighter layout.

A correct install follows the architecture instead of fighting it. We choose fasteners and mounting locations that belong on fascia and similar trim - not through shingles or into places that invite leaks in a Connecticut freeze-thaw cycle.

If a home has unusual materials (cedar, stucco, metal, newly painted trim), we flag that on the walkthrough. The written scope should always say where hardware goes. If you have a roofing warranty that restricts penetrations, tell us before we schedule.

Tell us before the roofers start. Track along the eaves can often be taken down and put back after the new roof is on. Doing that as a planned visit is far cheaper than discovering the system was pried off and left in a pile.

Permanent lighting is a property improvement. We need the owner's approval before we mount hardware. If you rent, have the landlord join the quote conversation or send written permission.

Earlier than you think. Southern Connecticut holiday calendars fill through fall. If you want lights up for Thanksgiving weekend or early December, request a quote as soon as you are ready - summer and early fall are ideal.

Some homes need a GFCI outlet added or a cleaner path for low-voltage runs. If that is the case, it will be in the written scope. Access to a garage, basement, or panel is only needed when the design actually uses it - we will say so ahead of time.

Clean wire management is part of the job, not an upgrade. We route and conceal as much as the architecture allows so you do not see a web of cord from the street.

Some transitions - for example, from fascia down to a power location - still need a short, tidy run. We plan those on purpose instead of leaving them for the last hour of the install.

For a first quote, good photos of the house (street view plus any tricky peaks) are often enough to start. A walkthrough is better when the roof is complex or you want to talk through colors on site.

On install day we need access to the work areas and to power. You do not have to watch the whole job, but someone should be reachable by phone, and gates, dogs, and alarm sensors should be handled so the crew can work safely.

HOA and historic-district rules vary by town and by association. Approval is the homeowner's responsibility. We can provide product photos, a description of the daytime track profile, and a copy of the proposed layout to attach to an architectural-review packet.

If your HOA only allows seasonal lighting, a Christmas package that comes down after the holidays may be the path that fits the rules. Ask us early so we do not design a system you cannot get approved.

Permanent residential systems are quoted by the job, based on the home, height, complexity, and control hardware. Average jobs are about $5,000. Our minimum is $3,500.

A small ranch and a large colonial are not the same number. You receive a written proposal for your house so the price is fixed to the design you approved.

Seasonal packages are scoped to the display: roofline only, trees, garland, and how "full" you want the house to read from the street. Temporary crews in the area often charge a few hundred dollars a year for a basic hang-and-remove - we quote our own commercial-grade design instead of matching a bargain strand price.

Deposits, progress draws, and the final balance are spelled out in your written agreement or invoice. If a card or check fails, remaining work can pause until the balance is current, as described in our terms.

When a deposit is required, it is listed in the proposal and applied to the job as stated there. Permanent systems involve ordering specific product for your footage; a deposit reserves the schedule and materials.

Permanent systems are app-controlled. After install we help you connect, save the scenes you actually want, and set a schedule. From the couch you can switch Christmas to everyday white without touching a ladder.

Exact app name and features depend on the hardware specified in your agreement. The handover includes a walk-through, not a login dumped in an email.

The platforms we install are set up to work with common voice assistants - Alexa, Google Home, and Apple HomeKit - when your home network and the chosen controller support that link. We confirm compatibility in the proposal rather than assuming every house is identical.

You can still run everything from the phone app if you never want to talk to a speaker.

Yes. Scheduling is one of the main reasons people choose permanent lighting. Typical setups are dusk until a set time (for neighbors and dark-sky courtesy) or a longer architectural window on weekends.

For a rental or commercial property, decide who "owns" the login so you are not locked out after staff turnover.

The controller needs a reliable connection where it is mounted - often a garage, attic eave, or similar sheltered spot - not at the far peak of the roof. If your Wi-Fi dies at the back of the house, we may recommend a better location or a simple network tweak.

Mention mesh systems, thick stone walls, or a detached barn during the quote. Connectivity is part of a good design, not an afterthought.

Yes - that is the environment they are specified for. We install commercial-grade LED and outdoor-rated hardware, not indoor stringers clipped to a gutter. Ice, Nor'easters, and freeze-thaw cycles are why we care about mounting, seals, and product class.

No outdoor system is immune to a falling limb or a vehicle hitting a low run. Damage like that is different from a manufacturing or workmanship issue, and we will say so honestly if it happens.

Permanent installs are backed by a 3-year no-fail warranty covering fixtures and workmanship, as stated in your written agreement. Manufacturer coverage on LEDs, controllers, and power supplies may extend beyond that and lasts as long as the manufacturer specifies.

Contact us with the address, a short description, and a photo if you can. If it is a covered workmanship or fixture issue inside the warranty window, we make it right.

For Christmas packages, in-season maintenance is already part of the service. For permanent systems, do not try to open the track yourself - that can void coverage and is rarely faster than a scheduled visit.

We may photograph or video completed work for our portfolio, website, ads, and social media, without showing your street number or using your name, unless you ask us in writing not to feature the property.

You can opt out of public marketing photos by telling us before or shortly after install. We may still keep private job photos for records, warranty, and training. Details are in our terms of service.

They are not a seasonal hang-and-remove product. Keep gutters reasonably clear, and call us if a section misbehaves. After major storms it is worth a glance from the ground - the same way you would check a shutter.

There is no annual "take it down" visit. That is the operating cost difference versus rented Christmas lights.
